The story of Klepetan and Malena is a beautiful tale of devotion and love that transcends species. For two decades, Klepetan, a dedicated stork, would embark on an incredible journey every year, flying from South Africa to Croatia.

His sole purpose? To reunite with his mate, Malena. Despite her inability to fly due to an injury caused by a hunter, Malena never lacked Klepetan’s unwavering care. Each year, Klepetan would build her a nest, hunt for food, and tend to their chicks, ensuring Malena and their family were well cared for.

Their love story became famous, symbolizing loyalty and the deep bond between them. The reunion, after a long migration, was always a touching moment. For 20 years, they lived their lives together, each year more special than the last. Sadly, Malena passed away in 2021 at the age of 29, but her story, and the devotion of Klepetan, will always be remembered.

The pair’s love, unshakeable and enduring, reminds us all of the power of commitment and the beauty of relationships that last a lifetime.
