Activation of a commercial space isn't just inside. It is outside, horizontal, vertical, overhead, below, and all tied together.

Does it need to be set up each day before you open, need to be tied down, or secured?

Does it stop folks in their tracks, become additional seating, create a photo op, become the destination, or does it direct them to your door?

What do you think!?

Personally, I love finding beautiful ways building materials fit together! These surface colors are also coordinated to match... the bar top, the stools, the landscaping.... Nothing is left to chance and my enjoyment is heightened with a sense of awe!

Do you agree?

Amongst the business and visual clutter, of San Antonio's famous , are subtle but brilliant functional room dividers!

The double bi-fold doors on the backside of these archways adds a decorative way to close off (or privatize) this entire section of the restaurant.

Other sections were contained by linking rooms with their own bars, so that they can be self-sustaining party rooms, with accessible restrooms. Another section (of their many) was already closed off, with large heavy yellow curtains, while staff was setting up for a party! You can see a decorative door and more curtains in the other pictures.

Subdividing open spaces with functional decor doesn't detract from the look of the space and can establish transition zones from dining/living/public/private areas.

Creating adjacent bar and restroom access is things to a-whole-nother-level!
