Getchell Amplifiers

Hey everyone! I sold several pieces of equipment over the weekend, so I dropped off more receivers at my booth #1061/517 Gilley's Antique & Decorator Mall in Plainfield indiana! They are open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm! I have more fantastic equipment coming up as soon as I finish a couple of pre-ordered restorations!

Heres another fairly rare receiver! This JVC 4VR-5446 is very well built and sounds fantastic. Rated at 20w RMS x 4, or 44w RMS x 2 in stereo bridge mode, it has plenty of punchy warm power for most small to medium size rooms. It has discrete 4 channel inputs as well as built in CD-4 demodulator.

I performed the following service on this unit:
- Replaced all input pairs (2sa726's) on amplifier boards with hFE matched modern low noise KSA992's
-Replaced 2SC-458's in amplifier section with KSC1845's
-Replaced capacitors in power supply section with Nichicon PW and KL series, and cleaned up the dried corrosive glue.
-FM tuner aligned
-All pots and switches cleaned with deoxit
-Bias adjusted in amplifier section
-cosmetic clean and detail.
Overall it is cosmetically nice with a few small scratches consistent with age.
These vintage JVCs are a really good bang for the buck!
