This time an excerpt of me playing Curtis Mayfield’s “We’re A Winner” from the album Curtis/Live. Recorded at in 1971. When recreating the bass tone of Joseph “Lucky” Scott I instinctively gravitated toward this Gibson SG Bass. Sidenote: just like the album, this instrument is also from 1971. Who knew? For the longest time now, I’ve been told that I look like Jeffrey Wright. Honestly, I don’t see the resemblance but it does explain why so many folks call me “Peoples”.
