Last week, our Head of Production, Kate Simpson, was able to complete a 3-day course and become OSHA certified 🎉

Her BIG takeaway from the course was this: “If safety is everyone’s job, it’s no one’s responsibility. We have to guarantee we are doing everything we can to create a safe working environment for all of our employees, vendors, and partners by holding ourselves accountable for the safety of our production.”

Last week SFG collaborated with the ACLU to produce the ACLU Emergency Town Hall: Our Fight for Abortion Access.

We’re grateful that we were able to produce such an important and necessary event to support the millions of people who will be affected by this Supreme Court decision.

At SFG, we’re continually improving our systems to keep up with the demand of the ever evolving event landscape.

One of the ways we’ve improved a standard Zoom meeting is to integrate a VMix call system to improve functionality and speaker experience. There’s a wide range of benefits that comes from using VMix that include:

➡️ Allowing speakers to enter a virtual backstage area where they can speak to each other and our stage manager before going live

➡️ Isolating individual speaker audio and video with the ability to pull them on and off the screen during the course of the event

➡️ Integrating custom graphics for PiPs, full screen slates, and lower thirds

➡️ Speakers backstage can be fed a program feed so they’re aware of what’s happening when they’re off screen and watch any pre-recorded videos in real time

Vmix allows us to effectively manage speakers, graphics, and content all at once.
