Before they cross the graduation stage tonight, the Class of 2026 gathered in gratitude, reflection, and celebration for Cristo Rey Brooklyn’s Baccalaureate Mass and Awards Dinner, held Thursday at the Church of St. Jerome.

The soon-to-be graduates processed from Cristo Rey Brooklyn to the church, to applause and well wishes from community members. The mass was celebrated by the Very Rev. Fr. Dwayne Davis, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, and included prayers and intentions spoken in English, Kreyol, Spanish, Yoruba, and French, along with singing in Igbo and a moving liturgical dance by CRB's own Karizma M., '27.

In his homily, Fr. Davis honored not only our seniors’ accomplishments, but also empowered them to step boldly into the future with confidence, purpose, and pride in who they are.

“All of us are born original, but most of us die as copies. My CRB friends, I'm inviting you to go out into the world and allow the light of Christ to shine through you. Allow your uniqueness to shine and transform the world. We have enough copies—we simply need you, the graduates of the Class of 2026, to become the best versions of yourself.”

Afterward, students and families gathered in the CRB gym for awards and scholarships given for outstanding academic, service, civic achievements.
