Elbin Reyes is more than a DJ’s DJ, he’s your favorite record dealer’s tipster. Regarded as one of NYC’s top collectors, Elbin’s signature ability to identify a special record, CD or cassette has rightfully earned him a place among the city’s elite crate diggers & tastemakers.

Growing up on 152nd Street in Harlem during the ‘70s & ‘80s, Elbin embraced his neighborhood’s role in history as a cultural nexus & became an early adopter of DJing, graffiti, breakdancing & roller-skating.
Since his teenage years, he has been a regular at music institutions like the Paradise Garage, the Loft, Zanzibar, the Shelter & the Roxy, as well as countless record shops & distributors like Vinylmania, Dance Tracks & Downtown 161.

Always dedicated & consistent, nowadays you can catch him making his weekly rounds at shops like Cosmic Arts, Mixtape, Human Head & Secondhand Records.

Although Elbin eschews the title of DJ & identifies more as a collector, he has played alongside the likes of Marcellus Pittman, Fred P. & DJ Monchan, at classic NYC parties like 718 Sessions, Brooklyn Elements Music Festival & Wepa Wednesdays, and in fabled locations like Fort Greene Park and the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Elbin has also hosted numerous online radio shows, most notably “Elbin’s Record Grocery,” started in 2011 in connection with A1 Records’ Daily Sessions.

A lifelong collector of Disco & Jazz, today he leans toward music with beautiful vocals, melodic arrangements & musicianship.
We can’t wait to see what coveted gems Elbin has in his endless record bag on his return to Musicland.
