What elevates truly exceptional design? The subtle elements that might go unnoticed at first glance but create a lasting sensory experience.

Swipe through some of my favorite details from KBIS—double-stacked countertops creating visual rhythm, hardware that feels as good as it looks, unexpected cabinet curvature, and rich matte finishes in fresh color palettes.

These thoughtful touches transform functional spaces into experiential environments that express the essence of those who live there. It’s these details that clients interact with daily that ultimately define how a space feels.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that bedrooms in a Brooklyn brownstone need smart storage for all our belongings, plus provide additional functions.

Of course, the built-in closets have been a game-changer, offering boutique-level organization. But I also managed to carve out space for our TV and entertainment cosole along with a his and hers workspace with built-in drawers and pullout desk area.

That’s the beauty of custom design: it fits your life, your space, and your style perfectly.

Today I am sharing some of my tried and tested ways to add space to hallways… the narrow, often-forgotten spaces deserve so much more.

In our Brooklyn brownstone, I turned our hallways into hard-working zones with custom built-ins for storage and to display our collection of handcrafted vases.

Every time I walk by them I appreciate how beautiful they turned out

Living in a Brooklyn brownstone means every inch has to work harder. And whether a client requests them or not, I love to “surprise and delight” them by sneaking in built-ins wherever I can.

Not only was designing the kitchen for my family of 6 in a Brooklyn Brownstone a challenge... designing any space in New York City is a challenge in itself.

Living in a compact Brooklyn brownstone has taught us to be resourceful, finding innovative solutions that blend style with practicality.

As I mentioned before, if I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t shy away from embracing the unique quirks that make living and designing in NYC truly special.
