We stand in solidarity with Minnesota and firmly against ICE’s horrific actions and the government support behind them. IMMIGRATION STATUS IS NOT A DETERMINANT OF PERSONHOOD.

Let’s be clear, ICE is not just about an illegal immigration crackdown. ICE is about oppression, control, and supporting T****’s agenda, targeting large cities with strong political opposition. It’s a visceral reminder that in this country, human rights and constitutional rights no longer matter. ICE continues to arrest people regardless of legal and/or criminal status. They have been instructed to enter private homes without judicial warrants. They have violated court orders. They are carrying military-grade weapons and unsheathing their guns to intimidate, despite no clear or imminent threat in sight. They are wielding weapons and saying, “Didn’t you learn?”

What we’ve learned is that we’ve devolved as a society and need to fight back. We stand with everyone participating in the national strike today in whatever way you can—if you have to work, open your business… do what you need to do. Sit with your anger, your sadness, and choose to act. Our society is broken and we need to act. Support your local immigrant-run businesses, call your representatives, be loud, set up recurring donations to a fund that aligns with your values, re-examine your reliance on big box retail... Resist.
