Koa David Michael Collier,

Today you are 39 weeks and 5 days old. Your “official” due date is Wednesday—May 15th but you are planning a fashionably late entrance just like your Papa—I’m sure of it.

I want you to know—how much your father and I love one another. How committed we are to our love and relationship as a reflection of our love for you. You were made with a lot of love and intention.

Your father and I are very passionate about what we are doing in this life (and one another) and we want to instill that in you. Because a life without passion isn’t worth a damn. Our lives are more than just about you, but they are certainly made greater because of you—and in this I hope you learn independence and to follow your dreams—just like we are following ours.

We are here to support you on this journey and help you grow into the best most strong and confident version of Koa. You are wanted. You are important. You are already so loved.

We cannot wait to meet you.

Part 2
Since I wasn’t going to remodel the kitchen (which is what most people do when they sell their house—kitchen and baths sell homes - apparently) I last minute also decided to embark on this paint and wallpaper job—leaving all the old appliances and doing nothing but painting, updating cabinet hardware, and removing wallpaper (and in some instances just painting right over it.)

I always tell people if you can’t do anything but paint—PAINT.
