L’EGO - The ego

Image-cultivation has taken on an essential role in our modern lives: We spend hours meticulously curating our appearance online, trimming and enhancing wherever we feel it’s needed. As these distorted versions of ourselves accumulate praise, we increase our efforts to resemble the avatar we’ve created. However, this comes at a cost: Once our admirers move on to the next craze or beauty ideal, we risk being left with nothing. Only an inflated ego, stripped of any resemblance to our true selves.
