Brooklyn College Math Club

Hey, the Math club is hosting a two-part event on Oct. 25th and Oct. 30th at 12:30-1:30PM titled “What is Physical Mathematics?”, which discusses the new and very active area of research at the interface of physics and mathematics!

The second part is intended for faculty, but students are also invited.

Food and refreshments will be provided!

Congratulations to Jonathan Hanon and Samuel Hartman for winning first and second places respectively in this year's CUNY Math Challenge!

Stony Brook is organizing a one-day math festival for math majors on November 12, 2016. It will feature talks by Fields medalist Simon Donaldson, Jim Simons, and others. There will be lunch and an afternoon tea break for registered participants. Funds are available to defer travel (and, in special cases, hotel) expenses.
