Today was the first Sunday in a long time that I wasn’t running from one business, one event, one idea, or one deadline to the next. After my morning meetings, we stayed home, made stout ice cream from scratch with Allrecipes , baked my favorite Banana Nutella recipe from Samantha Merritt , split real vanilla beans for the first time, and waited.

That’s it.

No luxury reservation. No itinerary. No “doing the absolute most.”

Just recipes, laughter, conversations, and the kind of quality time that doesn’t need a receipt to prove it mattered.

Turns out some of life’s biggest flexes happen while the ice cream is freezing.

Also, I doubled the bananas in the recipe because I really like bananas lmao. But I tried about 4 or 5 different ones. Hers is the best and it’s so simple. She also writes her recipes out well putting the amount under each step.
