🦨 Are you worried this summer will stink? 🎸 Join us for song, dance, yo-yoing hand puppets, silly antics, deeper truths, and catchy, original rock ’n’ roll tunes (by Phil and the Flying Leap ) — see it all at performances of “Party Animals” by puppetry superstar (and our beloved Resident Artist) Sarah Nolen of Puppet Motion!

Meet us in the shade on Sunday, July 19 for Pay-What-You-Can performances at our theater in Brookline, MA — or July 18 for a FREE Summer Outdoor Series performance on the Boston Common!

Calling all performers! 🙋‍♀️ Puppet Showplace is seeking a diverse group of artists to perform at our highly anticipated Summer Puppet Slam on Saturday, August 15!

This is your opportunity to dust off an old project or showcase something brand new! We are seeking a diverse group of artists to present short works that are primarily puppet-based, but may also include music, dance, circus, etc. Puppet Slam pieces can be silly, serious, sexy, philosophical, funny, classic, experimental... you name it! We are interested in works created by seasoned professionals, as well as beginners — maybe even first-time puppeteers!

(If you are motivated by deadlines: The application deadline is July 24 at 11:59pm.)

Not sure if you have the right piece? Submit anyway! ✨

Who is that behind the sparkle!? 👑💗✨ An anonymous patron recently sent us this photograph, showing two of our young audience members playing dress-up in our lobby after performances of “To The Clouds” by Happy Theater last month!

If you, too, have a loved one interested in all things glittered, glamorous, and gleeful, we’ve got good news for you! All summer long, audiences are welcome to enjoy our dress-up station — as well as coloring sheets, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk — after every Pay-What-You-Can Summer Sundays performance at our Brookline puppet theater. If you’ve got a free Sunday this summer, we invite you to swing by, say “Hi,” enjoy a show, and play with your fellow puppetry fans! 💜
