Summer swimming fun can sometimes lead to an uncomfortable case of swimmer’s ear.
Swimmer’s ear, also known as otitis externa, happens when moisture becomes trapped in the outer ear canal, creating an environment where bacteria can grow. Symptoms may include itching, redness, discomfort, tenderness, or fluid drainage.
One of the best ways to help prevent swimmer’s ear is to keep ears as dry as possible after swimming, sweating, or water exposure. Gently drying the outer ear with a soft towel and tilting the head side to side may help remove trapped moisture. Avoid putting fingers, cotton swabs, or other objects into the ear canal, as this can irritate the skin and increase the risk of infection.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve, contact your healthcare provider for guidance.
Stay safe, stay dry, and enjoy your summer fun!

Living with an autoimmune disease often means navigating chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, and symptoms that can change over time.
Because autoimmune-related pain can be complex, treatment plans are often highly personalized and may include lifestyle support, medications, nutritional guidance, and therapies aimed at supporting inflammation balance.
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is one option some prescribers may consider as part of a broader care plan. Prepared at much lower doses than traditional naltrexone, LDN is being studied for its potential role in supporting immune balance and pain modulation.
Talk with your healthcare provider to learn whether compounded therapies such as LDN may be appropriate for your care plan.
