The Mayor’s Office, Bristol Water and Sewer Department, and the Bristol Fire Department are launching Hydrant Heroes, an opportunity for Bristol residents to be recognized and awarded for shoveling out the local hydrants.
To enter, shovel out a three-foot area around the hydrant and a path to the street. Make sure it is visible and accessible in the event that the Bristol Firefighters need to utilize it. Send a "before you shovel" and an "after you shovel" photo, along with the address of the hydrant, to [email protected] to enter. The contest will accept entries through March 5th, 2026.
Participants will be entered into a drawing with 20 chances to win a donated $50 gift card and one chance to win the grand prize ride in a fire truck. Submit multiple hydrants for multiple chances to win. Winners will be announced at the March 10th City Council Meeting.
Thank you for helping keep our firefighters and neighbors safe and also reducing overtime costs associated with the Water & Sewer employees clearing the hydrants.
