Maria Venilde (Almeida Tavares) Cabral, 87, of Cooke Street, passed away on June 21, 2026, at The Dawn Hill Home. She was the wife of the late Antonio S. Cabral.
Born in Terra da Luz, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Alvaro and Maria (Almeida) Tavares. She is survived by her children: Philomena “Phoebe” Werner Paulhardt of MN, Antonio (Gina) Cabral of Warren, and Joseph (Linda Ricciotti) Cabral of Bristol; grandchildren: Austin Paulhardt, Nicole Hoppy, Jordan Palmer, Julia Cabral, Mia Cabral, Tyler Cabral, and Amber Cabral; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Hoppy, Easton Hoppy, Isabella Palmer, Jaxon Palmer, Knox Palmer, Havyn Palmer, and Maddox Palmer; and sister: Maria da Conceicao de Mello of Bristol.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son: Nelson Cabral; and her brother Manuel Tavares.
She was educated in Portugal. She was first employed by American Tourister for 30 years before being a self-employed housecleaner for an additional 15 years prior to retirement.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 8:30 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

RUMFORD -
Jennifer M. Matta, 45, of Rumford, Rhode Island, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on June 5, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Lesley J. Bolton.
Proudly raised in Little Compton, Rhode Island, Jennifer carried the values, friendships, and love of that close-knit community with her throughout her life.
Jennifer was the dearly loved daughter of Frances Matta (Cipriano) and the late George Matta Jr. In addition to her devoted wife and loving mother, she leaves behind her cherished brother, Michael Matta of Dighton, Massachusetts; her beloved in-laws, Forest and Christine Bolton of Bristol, Rhode Island; her lifelong best friend, Brian Kingsford, and his wife, Rachel Kingsford, whom she considered family; and her treasured godchildren, Elizabeth R. Kingsford and Bryson R. Kingsford of Barrington, Rhode Island, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life.
A prominent restaurateur and hospitality professional in Providence, Jennifer devoted her life to the restaurant industry she loved. As co-owner of OTRA Restaurant, she helped create a beloved gathering place known for its warmth and hospitality. She also dedicated over 20 years to BACARO, where she served as Vice President and a trusted leader and driving force behind its success, overseeing front-of-house operations and working alongside her longtime business partner and friend.
Jennifer will be remembered for her generosity, fierce loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the people she loved. Whether welcoming guests into her restaurant, supporting her friends, or spending time with family, she made everyone around her feel valued, cared for, and at home.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at HopeHealth Hospice for the compassion, dignity, and comfort they provided.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, Rhode Island 02809.

Joseph M. Botelho, 58, of Riverside, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of Manuel C. and Maria de Carmo (Craveiro) Botelho. He is survived by: his son Chencho Botelho of Arizona; and sisters: Linda (Joseph) Estacio and Ana (Manny) Machado.
Joseph attended Bristol schools. He was self-employed.
His funeral services were private.
