🎓 Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Trent Stiers

Please join us in congratulating Trent Stiers, recipient of a 2026 Uncommon Farms Foundation Trade Scholarship. Trent plans to attend Parkland College to study Ag Diesel Power Technology and pursue additional coursework in precision farming technology.

“After I graduate high school, I plan to attend Parkland College to study ag diesel power technology, where I will learn the ins and outs of all pieces of agricultural equipment that are commonly used in the industry. From mechanical to electrical, everything will be covered in this program. I also plan to take precision farming coursework to earn a certificate or double major, where I will learn more in depth about precision technology in farming equipment. After college I plan to work for 4 years in a career related to diesel mechanics and production agriculture that would benefit from my skills gained in college. Working for this company will benefit rural America by helping fill the void of experienced equipment operators and mechanics that more and more farms struggle to find. After those 4 years I plan to return to the family farm where I desire to become a part owner and work there until retirement. I hope with my experience from starting employment at the farm in 2020, going through college, working for another agricultural company, and bringing all those skills back to the farm will strongly benefit my family’s farm and me personally. I hope that one day that I will be able to contribute to the legacy that has been built for me and pass that legacy on to the next generation.”

Trent’s passion for agriculture, commitment to learning, and desire to return home and strengthen his family farm reflect the values at the heart of our Foundation. We are honored to support students like Trent who are investing in the future of rural America and carrying on the legacy of agriculture for generations to come.

Congratulations, Trent! We are excited to see where your future leads. 🌾
