Shindig Lighting

We are in need of installers to help setup events for the season!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
~ loading and unloading trucks at our Bridgeport location
~ driving to job sites
~ climbing various height ladders, up to 21' (rarely that high, however!)
~ carrying roadcases full of extension cords, lights, etc (sometimes up to 75 pounds, but always team-lifted!)
~ installing fabric drapery panels on side poles of tents and sometimes the ceiling area
~ hanging bistro string lighting
~ hanging chandeliers
~ miscellaneous tasks related to the event
~ working 5-9 hour days, working in warm/hot tented environments

Prior event experience is not required but would be extremely helpful to maintain efficiency of installations.

Hours vary but are mainly Thursday - Sunday, generally 9AM - 7PM for installs but is dependent on the job, its location and what it entails. Pick-ups can happen on Saturday nights after the event is over and is generally a 4-hour minimum (some events only take 2 hours, some take longer). Sunday pick-ups are generally completed by 6PM but can also vary based on the location and job details.

You must have a car and be willing to drive up to 1.5 hours as some job locations are remote in CT or NY. Compensation is made for using your vehicle.

You will be a freelance worker and the hourly rate starts at $18/hour with the ability for increase.

Our warehouse is located in Bridgeport, CT.

Starting May 20th in Connecticut, the next 6 months will likely result in drastically reduced guest counts (30 or less?? Including minimal vendors on-site) but we'll be ready with your drapery and lighting needs.
