Quick work on this Charlotte area basement today. The team finished up the stack and we’re definitely thankful for the slightly cooler weather while we were moving blocks.

We’ll be spending tomorrow buttoning up the bracing to make sure everything is rock solid. If the schedule holds, we’re pouring concrete on Monday.

Getting the basement right is the first step in building a home meant to last for the next 200–300 years. These ICF walls provide superior insulation and a level of durability you just don't get with traditional foundations. It’s a future-proof start for this project.

Looking forward to the pour next week.

Countryside project progress update.

The stonework is officially done and the deck is nearing completion. We are currently working on the T&G soffits and custom metal fascia. Stucco is scheduled to start in a couple of weeks.

Inside, the drywall is almost finished and the kitchen cabinets have been ordered. Building with ICF ensures this home will be energy-efficient and durable for the next 200–300 years.

New construction with a finished basement? The foundation of your build decides how well it holds back the hill : and how well it lives once the drywall's up.

Block eventually fails at the mortar joints. ICF is one continuous reinforced pour : no joints to shear or leak. And it's wrapped in continuous exterior foam, so no cold spots or condensation behind your client's new drywall.

Best part for the finish: the foam and the furring are already built into the wall. No framing a stud wall, no adding insulation, no furring it out : the wall comes ready to finish, so your subs just screw drywall straight to the built-in webs and go. Saves you steps, materials, and time.

Tougher wall, better results. Blue Ridge ICF : we set it, pour it, waterproof it, hand it back ready to finish. WNC. Give us a call if you are interested in a quote for your upcoming basement.

Beautiful day in WNC for framing a roof over an existing flat roof house. The client decided they wanted to cover their roof top deck with a pitched roof for more year round usable space, and we love building a stick framed roof when we get the chance!

Hey WNC! Some of you already know our story, but for those who are just now learning who we are, I'd love to introduce ourselves! I'm Micah, and I'm the owner of Blue Ridge ICF, a custom home building company and concrete poured wall subcontracting crew as well. I personally have almost 18 years of Firefighting and EMS experience. Multiple members of our crew came up fighting fires and responding to disasters, and after enough years of that you start thinking hard about how houses are actually built. So now we build the kind of home we'd want our own families in — concrete walls that stand up to fire and high wind, stay quiet and comfortable inside, and cost a fraction to heat and cool. Safer, tighter, drier, healthier air all around.
If you're planning a build in WNC, we'd love to be part of the conversation. Reach out anytime.

With the NC Supreme Court upholding Duke Energy’s nearly 18% rate hike, Western NC homeowners are looking for ways to take control of their utility bills. The best way to beat a rate increase? Don't use the power in the first place.

Building with ICF allows for significant HVAC downsizing. Because the air-tight envelope and thermal mass of an ICF home keep temperatures so stable, your heating and cooling systems don't have to work nearly as hard. This isn't just about comfort: it makes meeting or exceeding Energy Star HERS ratings incredibly easy.

By investing in a superior building envelope now, you're locking in energy savings for the life of the home. If you're building in the Brevard area, let’s design a home that protects your wallet as much as it protects your family.
