When drought pushed pastoral families in Laikipia County to the edge, James Mugambi Ngece saw a different kind of resilience, one that grows in the soil. With a seed grant from The Pollination Project, his organization, Equal Foundation, trained farmers to grow KAT B1 beans, a drought-tolerant, iron-rich crop that matures in just 60 days.
