In the face of deep tragedy, our community of Brenham, Texas, has witnessed the very best of servant leadership. As we mourn the heartbreaking loss of a precious child, Devah Woods, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank the brave men and women who responded with courage, compassion, and tireless determination.

To the Brenham Fire Department, Washington County EMS, local law enforcement, rescue teams, citizens, and all the volunteer and state agencies who assisted in the search and recovery efforts—thank you. Your commitment to protecting and serving our community, even in the most heartbreaking situations, does not go unnoticed.

This tragedy reminds us of the value of true leadership: those who run toward danger, who serve with humility, and who carry the weight of others’ grief with grace. You are leading our community through a devastating moment with such care and strength.

To the family of this precious child—your community stands beside you, lifting you up in constant prayer, surrounding you with love, and ready to support you in any way we can.
