Summer Smarts: Keeping Your Septic Cool During the Hot Months

June kicks off the season of sunshine, sprinklers, and summer fun but rising temperatures can also mean rising risks for your septic system if you’re not careful. While your tank may be out of sight, don’t let it slip out of mind just because the weather’s nice.

Hot months can dry out the drain field area and increasing water usage can lead to a tricky combo for older systems. Be mindful of back-to-back loads of laundry, overwatering the lawn, or long showers after a beach day. Also, summer is prime time for guests, BBQ’s, and extra flushes... Space it out to give your tank time to breathe (and drain). Remember, keeping it cool isn't just about AC- your septic system needs some TLC too!

With the holidays right around the corner please keep in mind that our office will be closed from December 25th thru January 1st so that our team can spend time with their loved ones.
