This weekend, as you go about enjoying your family, I invite you to recall what happened 20 years ago: 9/11. Think of those who lost their lives, whose lives were forever changed. Those who went to war and protected the innocent, who sacrificed their lives and sanity for those who needed to be protected. Honor them by taking just a moment to remember their sacrifice.

The skies have cleared, the rain has passed, and the sun is out. And it's hot, like really hot, with a heat index approaching 100 degrees. Life in the Ozarks, right? If you don't like the weather, hang around a minute and it will change.
The area is in full swing, with no restrictions that I am aware of for SDC, Shepherd of the Hills, or most attractions beyond perhaps limiting the amount of people visiting. The lake is about 8 feet high and just about perfect to swim in at 83 degrees. I heard a report of walleye being caught on the points and I have to get out there and find out if they are! Love that walleye to eat!
Summer is almost upon us and I will share a video of my favorite group, Southern Raised, playing Dueling Banjos at SDC a couple of years ago. They are a local group (near Crane, Mo.) that I fell in love with several years ago. If they are ever near where you are, I highly recommend giving them a listen.

Summer is coming! It is, it really is! And this year, Summer is bringing back the Harlem Globetrotters to nearby Silver Dollar City!
