The Big Sky Wildflower Festival aims to connect attendees with the natural world through diverse programming designed to draw in communities of like-minded individuals.

The diversity of the programming, ranging from a wildflower-arranging workshop to a resilient landscapes walking tour to the grand opening of the Firewise Crevice Garden, is designed to appeal to a variety of participants, per Abby Butler, Grow Wild’s conservation program coordinator.

'Unprecedented miracle' : Madison County identifies remains of man missing since 1978 07/10/2026

The Madison County Sheriff's Office announced today that one of the region's oldest cold cases is a step closer to being solved.

Human remains discovered near Revenue Flats on August 15, 2025, have been positively identified as those of Clayton Quayle, who vanished 47 years ago, authorities said.

“Clayton’s identification provides long-awaited answers for this family,” a Friday press release states. “But this case remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation.”

Multi-hour SWAT response: Alleged sword attack, pepper spray assault on responders 07/10/2026

A multi-hour SWAT standoff in east Bozeman ended Thursday night with the arrest of 43-year-old Andres Alejandro Acosta after authorities said he threatened law enforcement, sprayed pepper spray at a deputy and barricaded himself inside his home while the sheriff's office attempted to serve a temporary order of protection.

Acosta was booked into the Gallatin County Detention Center on charges of obstructing a peace officer and assault on a peace officer. His bond has been denied.
