I support treatment courts because they work.

These specialized courts give people struggling with addiction a path to treatment while still holding them accountable. The goal is fewer repeat offenses and safer communities.

Treatment courts use close supervision, individualized plans, and coordinated support to help people break the cycle of crime and build stability.

As your County Attorney, I have been proud to collaborate with and support treatment courts for felony DUI, drug offenses, veterans, and misdemeanor DUIs.

When I took office in 2023, I made it a priority to rebuild the office while focusing on the most serious, high-stakes cases, which demand time, expertise, and resources.

To do that, we created specialized triage teams, including a Major Crimes Team, to ensure the toughest cases get the attention they deserve. We also reorganized prosecutorial teams so each team includes a dedicated victim's advocate, legal assistant, and courtroom for continuity and efficiency.

Additionally, taking advantage of available resources for certain complex, high-profile cases, we partnered with our colleagues at multiple agencies including the AG's Prosecution's Services Bureau to co-counsel difficult cases. We use all the tools available to us to manage complex cases and surging caseloads when resources are limited.

I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and I’m committed to continuing this work to ensure the most serious offenders face justice.

Over the past four years, I’ve had the honor of serving you as your Gallatin County Attorney. Together, we’ve held offenders accountable, supported victims, and worked tirelessly to strengthen public safety across Gallatin County.

But there’s more to do.

In the coming months, I’ll be sharing the progress we’ve made and my vision for the future of this office.
