ICYMI: On August 7, President Trump issued two actions that could reshape higher ed:
📜 Executive Order → Tighter oversight + accountability for ALL federal grants, including those to colleges and universities.
📊 Presidential Memo → Upgrades to the federal IPEDS system + expanded reporting on admissions, with a spotlight on transparency and race-based preferences.
What this means for you:
If your institution gets federal funding, expect more compliance requirements — and a chance to weigh in during the upcoming public comment period.
🚨 Big news in higher ed!
Last night the Senate confirmed Nicholas Kent as the 14th U.S. Secretary of Education in a 50–45 vote.
He’ll lead oversight of Postsecondary Education, Career & Technical Education, and Federal Student Aid.
