Thrilled that our lab received a grant from Google to study AI 'generative ghosts' and grateful to the Denver Post for the great write-up!

Congratulations to our Fall 2020 graduates! We had a small ceremony over Zoom today (complete with kazoos!) and celebrated 5 students receiving a BS in Information Science (Joy Weinberg, Jihoon Jang, Jason Kibozi-Yocka, Ryan Clune, and Jack Sandberg) and 4 receiving a PhD:

Dr. Himan Abdollahpouri, advised by Robin Burke, is moving on to a post-doc at Northwestern! His dissertation was on using internet data to understand human behavior, account for bias, and improve forecasting.

Dr. Xiaolei Huang, advised by Michael Paul, is moving on to a faculty position at University of Memphis! His dissertation was on adaptation methods for robust document classification.

Dr. Aaron Jiang, advised by Jed Brubaker and Casey Fiesler, is moving on to a researcher position at Facebook! His dissertation was on a multi-stakeholder perspective for improving online content moderation.

Dr. Wendy Norris, advised by Steve Voida, is now faculty at Nazareth College! Her dissertation was on sociotemporal disorder in globally distributed digital humanitarian work.
