In response to some of the backlash we have received for having to make some difficult decisions in the last week. We couldn't have said it better!
Got our first hate mail.
“Disgusting!!! Stay at home order till the 8th. Not coming to your salon ever again”
And please understand, I’m only addressing this publicly in case there’s someone else out there with the same concern.
We’ve always been upfront and transparent. So if anyone else is feeling like salons opening up May 1st was not a great idea...trust me, you’re not alone. There’s no one more hesitant and scared than we are. We are literally gearing up for war against an “invisible enemy”. We will be working inches away from clients. Oh, you don’t think we are s**ttin’ in our pants?! You don’t think we know what we are risking here?! We all have families, loved ones, and small children that we will be afraid to come in contact with after work! We are literally scared to death we will bring something home to them!!
On April 20th Governor Polis announced that we could reopen on May 1st. Our feelings ran back and forth from “oh s**t, is Colorado even ready?! Didn’t people just get done protesting this Sunday?! What if there’s a 2nd wave?! Yup, we are all going to die. But it’s ok, at least people will look good [thats sarcasm there Karen]
Here’s the thing. We also employ a lot of talented people. People who have been out of a job the last 5 weeks, with $0 pay, unemployment barely kicking in this week, and are beyond eager to provide for their families. [Rock]us[Hard Place]
We took a few nights to sleep on it. And after much thought and discussion we came up with a safety plan that we felt would help keep us and the clients safe. Did it make us feel invincible?! Hell no. Not even close. It’s probably safer being friends with Carol Baskin.
Tonight at 7 PM mayor Hancock puts in stay at home order until May 8th. Will we comply? Yes!!! We’ve been nothing but compliant! We’ve been nothing but patient. We’ve been nothing but understanding. We’ve done nothing but tried to help the world heal. So please, let’s all do our part. Stop with the judgement, stop with the hate. None of that BS does anything good!
This week we will he reaching out to all appointments scheduled beginning of May to rebook. Everyone, we ask for your patience and forgiveness. We understand you might be frustrated. Apparently so is Mother Nature.
