We hate posting this as much as you hate seeing it, BUT it’s a Red Flag Day today! That means any sparks or small ignitions could turn into a major fire problem for us all.

Don’t:
- burn anything outside or have an open fire
- dispose of coals and cigarette butts in the grass (ew)
- do work that creates sparks near combustible surfaces

Do
- sign up for emergency alerts at bocoalert.org
- encourage your friends and family to follow local fire regulations

Thanks fam! 🫡

What does a Division Chief of Operations do in Boulder Fire-Rescue? Great question! The Division Chief of Operations is a key leader in our department, responsible for overseeing all line-duty firefighters, battalion chiefs, and the Health and Safety program, and reports directly to the Deputy Chief.

So, who is currently filling this challenging and demanding position?

A huge congratulations to Chief Chad Rennich on his promotion to Operations Division Chief! Previously serving as a Battalion Chief with BFR, Chief Rennich was already a pivotal leader within the department. He has only been in the role a short time, but he is already making it his own—bringing innovative ideas and strengthening connections with crews across the organization.

We are excited to continue working with you in this new capacity, Chief Rennich. Congratulations! 🎉🔥
