Cone Park has a dream to become a year-round destination for Sioux City, Iowa through the addition of mountain bike trails.

“The addition of the mountain bike trails would be a significant draw to the park which has successfully offered winter tubing and ice skating for the past four years,” said Matt Salvatore, the Sioux City Parks and Recreation director.
This trail system is closer to construction thanks to a recent $1 million donation from the Chesterman Foundation. “Next year is our 150th anniversary as a company,” said Jay Chesterman of the foundation. “We think supporting these trails are an excellent way to celebrate that milestone, and give back to our community that has supported us so well through all the many years.”

The Cone Park Mountain Bike Trail System will provide riding for all ability levels and includes a paved pump track, tot track, and a progressive jump line. The Trails Concept Plan (pictured) was created by IMBA Trail Solutions and the team will be designing the details in spring 2022.
