Boulder Climbing Community

It’s here! Our summation and celebration of all things stewardly and generally awesome we did last year. It was a big year— our fifteenth!— and we are proud to share the results of our work and highlight some of the dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and community members that made it all possible. As we dig in this summer on trail work, anchor replacement, raptor monitoring, and WAG bag distribution and activate even more volunteers from our community, we hope this 2025 Annual Report will serve to inspire and embolden you— we are on a good path as an organization, and we are excited to keep delivering for you.

🌟ORGANIZATION HIGHLIGHT🌟
2026 Boulder Retreat: Aug 26-29th. Application Deadline: June 1st
Genuine Climbing empowers women affected by cancer by providing free outdoor rock climbing retreats that foster healing, connection, and renewed confidence. Through multi-day retreats and community programs in Gardiner, NY, and Boulder, CO, participants are invited into a supportive environment where they can try something new, reconnect with their bodies, and build meaningful relationships with others who understand their journey. No prior climbing experience is needed, and every program includes instruction, gear, lodging, meals, and other wellness activities at no cost.
Cancer often brings isolation, fear, and a loss of identity, and many women face barriers to accessing supportive outdoor experiences. Genuine Climbing removes those barriers, creating space for women to rebuild strength, rediscover joy, and feel supported every step of the way. Participants consistently report increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and a renewed sense of hope, with many describing the experience as life-changing.
Any woman over the age of 21, with any type of cancer, in any stage of treatment, recovery or survivorship, is welcome to apply at https://genuineclimbing.org/apply-for-retreat/
Applications will be accepted until the deadline of June 1st.

On Saturday, April 25th, BCC rebolting volunteers spent the day replacing fixed hardware on 12 routes at Mine Hole Crag in Boulder Canyon.
66 aging bolts were upgraded to stainless steel glue-ins that were provided by . This brings us to 200+ bolts replaced so far in 2026 🎉
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out despite the cold to improve climbing safety in Boulder Canyon!
Are you interested in getting involved to help the BCC replace bolts across the Front Range? Visit the “Anchor Replacement Program” link in our bio to learn more!
We did It! Really, YOU did it! Our weeklong Stewardship Kickoff Campaign closed on Monday night, and we're proud to share with you that we surpassed our goal! We raised more than $7,000, and as a result, we unlocked another $3,000 in matching funds! That's more than $10,000 for stewardship work in 2026, from trail building to eagle monitoring.
We're feeling some big feels right now-- mostly immense gratitude and swelling pride. We asked you all to join this campaign by contributing what you could-- and dozens upon dozens of you did in a big way! Many of you joined as annual or monthly contributors, which sustains the BCC's crucial functions over the long term. More than a few of you threw down larger contributions than ever before. Many of you are also familiar names and faces who have volunteered with us over the years (doing even more to make the stewardship happen!). We see all the ways, big and small, you show up for stewardship, and our gratitude is deep. We couldn't be more proud to be part of this big, unique community of climbers who believe in taking care of the places where we love to play-- and who put their money where their mouth is. Thank you for believing in the BCC and supporting all that we do!

It’s the final day of the Stewardship Kickoff Campaign!
Today, we want to highlight and thank all of our volunteers. SO many of you who are members or make regular donations to support our work are also volunteers, and we love working with such a big slice of the Front Range climbing community. Our volunteers make every aspect of the work the BCC does possible; we couldn’t accomplish our stewardship projects without your hard work and effort. You show up for everything from hauling heavy rocks and painstakingly removing rusty bolts to tabling and helping run BCC events. It takes a village to care for the places where we climb, and we’re so proud and grateful to work alongside all of you who roll up your sleeves to make good things happen out there!
We are 89% of the way to our goal! We only need to raise $750 by the end of the day to unlock our $3,000 match. That means that any donation you make today is effectively going three times farther, making even more program work possible this year. Help us get over our goal, donate by 11:45pm tonight to support climbing stewardship!
