Handing your teen the car keys comes with a lot of trust and responsibility.

During National Teen Driver Safety Week, talk about the situations they'll actually face: distracting passengers, phones, speeding, driving tired, seat belts, and impaired driving.

And remember, one of the biggest driving lessons we give our teens is the example we set behind the wheel.

The driver who caused an accident isn't always the person who owns the vehicle.

When a borrowed car is involved, figuring out what insurance applies can become more complicated.

FALSE. You don't have to hire a personal injury lawyer within 24 hours of an accident.

But getting reliable information early can be helpful.

Evidence can disappear. Memories fade. Surveillance footage may be overwritten. And insurance companies may begin asking questions before you fully understand your injuries or your options.

You don't have to make every decision immediately. You should, however, understand what those decisions could mean.

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month—a good reminder that everyone shares the road.

Drivers should stay alert for people walking, especially near intersections, schools, parking lots, and areas with limited visibility.

And as the days get shorter this fall, a few extra seconds of attention behind the wheel can make a meaningful difference.

Look twice. Slow down. Share the road.
