Yesterday, Seattle Indian Health Board celebrated the grand opening of its new 92-bed residential treatment center on Vashon Island.

Thunderbird brings expanded access to culturally responsive, Indigenous-led treatment grounded in evidence-based care, traditional healing, connection and community.

This is an important investment in recovery and a powerful reminder of what is possible when we build systems of care that honor the whole person.
