Asphalt shingles are designed for pitched roofs (typically 4:12 slope or steeper) where water sheds quickly. On low-slope roofs (see photo), water drainage is slower, which can allow moisture to pe*****te under shingle edges and cause premature leaks and deterioration. This installation does not align with manufacturer specifications for asphalt shingle performance.
