Reach Beyond Borders

Dear friends of John Chapman, Reach Beyond Borders, and La Mision,

John Chapman has been serving on mission trips with us supporting La Mision in Guatemala for over 20 years. He’s our main electrician who has repaired and installed wiring on many projects. Since he can fix anything put in front of him, we call him “MacGyver”!

On our trip this year he became ill and was rushed to the emergency room in Guatemala City where he underwent emergency surgery. He’s been in the ICU for over a week and will eventually rehab with Dr Tito and Dr Allan until he is strong enough to travel home.

We do have trip insurance to cover some of the costs but the remaining balance will put a significant burden on John and his family.

We’re raising funds to help with the balance and are reaching out to friends of John and La Mision to ask for assistance. Any donation will be helpful and your prayers are appreciated as he continues to heal.

Reach Beyond Borders

We had an awesome time in Guatemala serving with our dear friends from La Mision. We served over 1,000 patients in our Medical, Dental, and Vision clinics. The 84 students at Sarita School all received new school shoes and a supply of protein drinks from the food program. The Kitchen was expanded with a prep area and two additional stoves and we installed stoves is two new schools and 6 homes. Our friends from Texas were with us again and it was awesome to work alongside them on the construction and stove activities. This year some of our team was able to stay a few extra days so we visited Tikal which is a historic Mayan site featuring many pyramids and ceremonial area. It is always sad to say goodbye to Dr. Tito and his team but next year will be here soon and we look forward to serving with them again.
