Treatment for heartworm infection in dogs is expensive and time-consuming, requiring multiple vet visits and months-long exercise restrictions for your dog. There is currently no approved drug therapy for treating heartworms in cats. On the other hand, preventive measures include a monthly “treat” year-round and testing once a year. 🦴

Because April is National Heartworm Awareness Month, we are reminding pet owners how important it is to keep their pets on current, up-to-date preventives.
