Listeria monocytogenes colonies on ALOA (Agar Listeria Ottavani & Agosti) Medium.
ALOA Agar is a selective chromogenic medium for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria spp. in food and environmental samples.
ALOA agar provides reliable and rapid results in 24 hrs at 37°C. The plate is easy to read with blue to blue-green colonies on an opaque background. L. monocytogenes produces a halo on the agar, while other Listeria spp. does not.
