Standing Bow Pulling Pose (Dandayamana Dhanurasana)
Standing Bow Pulling Pose is one of the ultimate tests of balance, blending strength on one side with flexibility on the other, working together in perfect harmony.
This is one of the rare postures in yoga that is both a deep backbend and a spinal twist. As you hold it, blood flushes from one side of your body to the other, delivering fresh oxygen and nutrients to your muscles and giving your nervous system an energizing reset.
It is a posture that demands your full attention. Every second, you are balancing, kicking, reaching, and breathing, holding your focus as your body works from the standing leg all the way through the tips of your fingers.
Physically, it strengthens the legs, glutes, and core, opens the chest, shoulders, and hip flexors, and helps release stubborn tension in the upper back and neck. Mentally, it trains concentration, patience, and determination, skills you will carry far beyond the mat.
It is challenging, it is energizing, and it is one of those postures that teaches you something new about yourself every time you practice it. We break it down and work on it regularly at Instrumental Yoga in
Come see what your body and mind can do.
