Destinations Less Known
Early morning in Modena. After visiting the Pavarotti statue and the Ducal Palace, we continue on foot with a licensed local guide, moving through historic streets as the city comes to life—bicycles passing, locals starting their day.
This is where world experience matters. Traveling alongside a local expert, I pass on the insight gained from years on the road—knowing when to slow down, where to look, and how to experience a place beyond the highlights.
We make our way to Piazza Grande, home to the Preda Ringadora and Modena’s Cathedral—the historic and spiritual heart of the city.
Part 2: Inside Piazza Grande and why this UNESCO World Heritage site is more than just a landmark.
Travel becomes something entirely different with a private guide. Here, I meet my guide, Caterina, and we explore the city, stopping at the Pavarotti statue along the way.
Privateguide
After a day of touring in the lowlands of Parma and arriving into Modena, I was relieved to arrive to my new home for the night at Canalegrande Hotel Modena for a comfortable and restful night. I always stress to clients about location and being in heart of the historic center means less time and money spent on transportation. The next day my tour guide will meet us here to start our tour of Modena.
Italy beyond the classics 🇮🇹
After Rome, Venice, and Milan, Emilia-Romagna offers something different—fewer crowds, incredible food, and authentic experiences. I spent 25 days on the road here, from Parma to Rimini.
By day 8 alone, I’d already inspected three cities, hotels, tours and was heading into the fourth—Modena. This is what travel advising really looks like behind the scenes.
