NECAT

Pursuing Light: The Bill Strickland Story premiered at the Roxbury International Film Festival last week, at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury and NECAT was honored to cater lunch for the premiere.

The film follows Bill Strickland’s life and his philosophy for creating hope in communities through art and education. It also highlights the network of Centers for Arts and Technology around the world built on his philosophy, and NECAT is proud to be one of
them.

Bill flew in from Pittsburgh to celebrate with us, and on June 22nd, a private screening at Roxbury Community College brought together NECAT students, staff, and community members for a reception where they had the chance to meet him in person.

This moment means everything to us. Many years ago, Bill challenged our founder, Maarten Hemsley, to bring his model to Boston. That challenge became NECAT and today, over 1,300 students later, that vision is still changing lives every day.
