Carlton, Alex, Miguel, and the Cuban Vibes team certainly earned an A+ for their event last weekend, Nov. 14-16, 2014.

They offered continuous workshops from 10 am to 6 pm both Saturday and Sunday taught by more than 14 different artists … on 8 partner dances, a variety of Cuban folklore themes, musicality (congas), and of course, Rueda de Casino!

In fact, 10 times out of the 16 available workshop slots, casineros could choose to attend a different Rueda workshop!

Leo Hernández, Yersin Rívaz, and Ariel Ríos Robert taught the 3 improvers / intermediate - level Rueda workshops.

A high-five and bulla laaarrgaaaa , however, to Cuban Vibes for choosing the German Rueda Master, Knut Leiss, to teach not just a few but a total of SEVEN master-level workshops on “new” Rueda structures (LLanta, Espejo, Cruzada, Trios, etc.).

Knut’s RUEDA workshops were the most-attended of the entire weekend!

This is testimony not only to the interest of the casineros who went but clearly as well to Knut’s engaging personality, the depth of his understanding of the new Rueda structures, the clarity of his teaching, and the joy and laughter that he brings to the Rueda family every time.

The venue (Hotel Cavendish) was an excellent choice as well: spacious dance floors, a friendly staff, inexpensive food/drink, and located right across from the ocean. I stayed at the comfortable Shore Hotel, just 7 blocks away down the seaside road.
