Originally from Venezuela and now based in Dorchester, Franklin Marval began incorporating his signature hearts into his work after the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing as a way to process tragedy, promote healing, and encourage unity. Today, his murals continue that mission—celebrating community, diversity, and positivity through public art.
