This Memorial Day weekend is in special reverence to our friends and partners at Home Base, a globally recognized leader on the mental health and wellness of our veterans, military, and their families.
We are so fortunate to learn from Home Base's devotion, excellence, and empathy. And honored to support their mission throughout the year with our service and advocacy.
As Retired Brigadier General Jack Hammond, Executive Director of Home Base, reflects, "On this Memorial Day, may we honor the fallen not only with our words, but with our actions — by continuing to serve those who carry their legacy forward.”

We are still reflecting with gratitude on last week’s meaningful moment.
Bridgewater State University’s recognition of Carolyn Casey with the Distinguished Service Award — presented during commencement ceremonies featuring Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell and university leadership — was more than an honor for one individual. It was a celebration of the power of young people, service, compassion, and community.
For more than fifteen years, Carolyn’s leadership has helped thousands of young people across Massachusetts discover their ability to lead with empathy, courage, and purpose.
To every Ambassador, alum, family member, educator, volunteer, and supporter who has helped build and strengthen this movement: this recognition belongs to you, too.
Thank you for believing in the next generation.

It was a special joy to join these four incredible change makers at last evening's Fitchburg Public Schools Committee meeting!
State Representative Mike Kushmerek, Mayor Samantha Squailia, Superintendent Thompson & the School Committee celebrated ALC Chelsea Bernor's selection as 2027 Service Hero and Susan Orsini's recognition as a life-changing educator with The Starfish Award. Both honors are a reflection of exceptional leadership and enduring goodness.
The team -- including Mary Cringan and Tracy Pappas -- were also celebrated for the impact of Celtics Community Playbook, including the founding of Unified Sports at Fitchburg High!
Inspired by the efforts of Fitchburg's Playbook participants, Unified Sports unites athletes with and without intellectual disabilities, to train alongside each other as teammates and to promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect.
Every school district has its own special magic and inspirational community of educators, learners, and leaders. We are so thankful for the privilege of partnering with each to build a youth-powered movement for change!
