Consciously Lisa
I’m not quitting social media. I’m quitting comparison. After 14 years in this space, I understand what gets amplified. Especially for Black women in fashion and beauty. It’s not just the clothes. It’s the full presentation. The polish. The elevated backdrop. The editorial street style. The aspirational aesthetic. And baby I love it. I live for the creators who give all of the vibes and stop my scrolling. When I was growing the fastest, I was shooting street editorial fashion. I know what that lane requires. I know what it costs. Right now, this is what I have to give. Me getting dressed in My doorway, lol! My real life. My actual environment. And if I’m being honest, I gravitate toward aspiration too. Think about the Black creators we follow most consistently in fashion and beauty. It’s rarely just the outfit. It’s the full experience. I’m part of that culture as much as anyone. And this understanding, this clarity, feels freeing. I don’t need to compete in a lane that was built around an aesthetic I don’t live in. I can tap into my other interests, or not. Who knows?! The sky is the limit. Success for me is going to look different than I once imagined. And instead of forcing it to look a certain way, I’m actually excited to build it differently. That’s it that’s all.
