Fearless Focus Program
It’s difficult, even for an adult, to keep up with today’s beauty standards. Our brains are fully developed, and we have the maturity and experience of navigating life’s ups and downs.
We constantly remind our children how beautiful they are and tell them not to compare themselves to anyone else.
Yet, I’ve had so many conversations with parents and close friends where we still find ourselves beating ourselves up about the way we look.
It’s almost impossible to escape the images of “perfect” people...you know, the ones with no wrinkles, no crow’s feet, no cellulite, no turkey neck, no beer belly…you get the point.
I can’t even imagine how a child is supposed to navigate this messed-up “perfect” beauty culture created by social media.
So, in an attempt to remind everyone (including myself): real beauty is in who we are, not what we look like.
Be a finder of gold in others.
Make people feel safe in your presence.
Treat your own softness as strength.
Now that’s true beauty 🙌

When I was going through a very difficult and sad time in my life, all I could do was cry, worry about the future, and feel self-loathing and shame. I was living with my sister, who was the one person supporting me through it all. Every single day, I woke up and went to bed perseverating on all of the bad things I was feeling and experiencing...lonely, rejected, and scared. I felt like a total failure.
One night as I was getting into bed, she brought a book into my room about gratitude. It was a simple little book that spoke to the power of positive thoughts. As she handed it to me and said goodnight, I thought, “How is this little book going to help me get out of this huge mess?”
But I began to read it. The pages were small, but the message was huge: If you let yourself spiral into all of the negative aspects of life, you will never, ever be able to appreciate the beauty in the small but miraculous life you already have.
It was a huge turning point for me. Over the next few years, whenever things got difficult and defeating, I would remember this little book, the power of positive thoughts, and the simplicity of gratitude. It was life-changing.
“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.”
