HANDSOME BLUE sets sail on Friday, February 27! ⛵️

I wrote this song inspired by the “Sweet Willie” family of English seafaring ballads. This new song reimagines this classic adventure narrative with a more optimistic outcome. The recording features providing harmony vocals, on fiddle, playing cello, and a recording of the first time we heard the heartbeat of my son Francis Monahan-Hendey. Happy New Year! A decade ago I released my debut solo album, Forward. Today, I’m proud to announce the upcoming launch of my second solo album, Illuminate.

Supported by Iguana Music Fund, this collection of songs and tunes features my singing and arrangements of new and traditional Celtic music, and includes guest appearances by many of my best friends and favorite musicians in the world. I can’t wait to tell you all about it over the coming weeks.
