This summer, Justice at Work has had the pleasure of having Peggy Browning Fellow Ali Mirza on the team supporting workers' rights.
Ali is a law student at the University of Pennsylvania and grew up in the Chicago-land area. After completing undergrad, he worked in eviction defense in Detroit which helped him develop his understanding of the through-lines between varying forms of systemic injustice. This summer, Ali has counseled workers who applied for Deferred Action for Labor Enforcement (DALE) under the Biden Administration, researched temporary workers’ rights, and supported ongoing litigation. Following law school, he hopes to use the legal system to create a more egalitarian society.
