Pregnancy and infant loss is a tragedy that affects many families in our communities. The US infant mortality rate is 5.6 deaths per 1,000 live births, but Black babies have a higher likelihood of death with 10.8 deaths per 1,000 live births (CDC).
has a mission is to provide education, advocacy, public awareness, and support services to families in our community experiencing all types of loss.
Their vision is to unite the community and support families in the process of healing in a positive way.
If you or someone you know may be struggling to cope, heal, are feeling lost after loss or just want to connect with a group of people who have experienced loss in their own way and have found ways to navigate this often-unspoken place. I urge you to get connected with Propa City Community Outreach. They host healing sessions and various workshops each month that can aide in making steps to heal in a positive way.

Today we’re bringing you a resource that is changing the game in care for Black and brown women. Research shows that 22% of Black women receive a lower quality of care than white women and are subject to discrimination in the healthcare field (NCBI).
Irth– or Birth without the B for Bias – is the only app where you can read prenatal, birthing, postpartum, and pediatric care reviews written by other Black and brown women. is the #1 "Yelp-like" platform created by and for people of color for the pregnancy and new motherhood journey. Look up doctor and hospital reviews in your area! Leave a review of your providers to help others learn and be protected!

The Connecting, Hope, Assistance and Treatment (CHAT) program provides medical, material, nutritional, and social support for women who do not have the means to pay for breast cancer treatments and services. As a result of our in-depth quality improvement project, we hope to expand the services we provide for current CHAT clients and other MA residents living with breast cancer, while also doing more community-based breast cancer prevention work.
We are now looking for providers and community members to participate in surveys, interviews and a focus group so that we can test out our ideas, and learn more about how best to be a part of the current landscape of breast cancer support and prevention work. Please see below for more information on how to get involved:
