U.S. stocks were mixed today as weakness in internet stocks drove the Nasdaq lower. Fed Chair Janet Yellen said that the U.S. economy showed "solid growth" in the second quarter. The Dow rose 0.72% and the S&P 0.52% while the Nasdaq fell 0.32%. We hope everyone has a great night.

The U.S. stock market finished with the best gains in 7 weeks. Investors welcomed a larger than expected drop in the weekly jobless claims and some upbeat earnings. The S&P 500 index ended up 1.2%, the Dow closed up 1.2% as well, with the Nasdaq moving higher posting a 1.1% gain. Remember that the non-farm payrolls report will be out at 8:30 a.m. Eastern.
